Donovan Mitchell proved on Sunday evening that redemption can come anytime; not only did he lead his Cavaliers team to victory with an astounding 39-point performance in Game 7 against Orlando but for the first time since 1986 they also managed a playoff series win without LeBron James!
Once the game was over, Mitchell came out smiling from hiding again and assured us why he had come to Cleveland in the first place: “This is why I’m here!” His answer when asked why was simple “My job.”
Caris LeVert also contributed significantly, scoring 15 points and helping the Cavaliers avoid disaster in order to win 106-94 and advance into the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Mitchell refused to allow his team’s early elimination and instead led his squad with precision and discipline, eventually helping the black team secure victory in overtime. Mitchell wasn’t willing to surrender easily and instead led his squad through victory with determination and flair.
“This statement shouldn’t come across as disrespectful, but it doesn’t really carry much weight,” explained a Cavs guard. “Our focus wasn’t just to win in round 1, we achieved one goal then set another one – that is the mindset for which we came here today.”
After seeing their team complete its largest comeback since 1997/98 in Game 7, fans at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse began shouting out “We want Boston!” at its conclusion.
“Everyone thinks the Celtics will come out swinging hard against us,” one team star noted when discussing facing off against them. “So for us to remain level-headed throughout and simply be who we are is the main priority.
Paolo Banchero had another impressive outing for his team as they dropped 38 and grabbed 16 rebounds combined in this postseason experience. “After our initial game, people wondered whether we would come back together again, so to come back so strongly shows where our heads are heading and what capabilities our players possess,” Banchero stated.
Cleveland coach Paul Brown applauded his players for rallying together when needed most, commending their resilience when facing difficulties and need.
Even without their starting center Jarrett Allen (missed his third game due to injury), Cleveland was still able to beat Orlando in this grueling seven-game series and secure victory.
J.B. Bickerstaff was highly pleased with how his players responded after falling behind by 18 in the second half. “That is what special players do when it matters most,” Bickerstaff proclaimed postgame, adding, “He was special when needed and showed exceptional character when under fire.
Darius Garland needed some confidence-boosting, and proved he has what it takes to lead the Cavaliers alongside Mitchell. “We had been struggling through these first rounds for two years; he knew all of us wanted it at once and together,” Mitchell noted.
