The contrast comes as the club carries a three-game winning streak after an 8-5 victory over the A’s on Tuesday. That result moved the Rangers to 38-29 (.567) at Globe Life Field, giving them the third-best home record in the American League and the eighth-best mark in MLB.
The schedule now gives the Rangers an opportunity to capitalize on that strength during the final month. They are set to play 15 of 24 regular-season September games at Globe Life Field. That is tied with Kansas City for the most home-weighted closing schedule in the American League, according to MLB News. Since 2023, the Rangers have gone 180-130 (.581) at home, behind only the Mariners (.585) and Rays (.583) in the American League over that span.
Jake Burger said the team is comfortable in its home park and believes the remaining home dates can help preserve its momentum. Burger also acknowledged that the Rangers will have more home games than road games to finish the season, making the 15-game run an important opportunity. Manager Skip Schumaker said he has not found a definitive explanation for the club’s weaker road performance, while noting that the Rangers have been significantly better at home. Schumaker said the 15 games at Globe Life Field could help the team make a late push, although the club is still trying to understand the difference between its home and road results.
The home-road divide is also reflected in Jacob deGrom’s figures: a 2.42 ERA at home and a 5.86 ERA on the road. DeGrom said the Rangers still need to win on the road and cannot rely only on the favorable home portion of the schedule.
