Will Howard Turns Heads With Bold NFL Comparison

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally have their quarterback.

As expected, Aaron Rodgers joined the team shortly after training camp.

However, he’s not going to be their only new signal-caller.

Will Howard entered the league fresh off leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to a National Championship, and while he might have to wait for a year before being the starter – if ever – he has some high expectations for himself.

When asked about his NFL comparison, he went as far as to say that he had a similar game to Josh Allen’s (via Dov Kleiman):

“Steelers rookie QB Will Howard says his NFL comparison is Bills superstar QB Josh Allen. Howard predicts he will be one of the next great quarterbacks in the NFL,” Kleiman posted on X.

With all due respect, Allen is a future Hall of Famer and one of the best quarterbacks of his generation, and while he was a late bloomer and it took him a long while to get there, his physical traits were always evident.

Howard showed impressive leadership skills, and he made some clutch throws during his championship run.

Like Allen, he also showed a willingness to leave the pocket and scramble to get those difficult yards.

Nevertheless, he doesn’t boast the same mesmerizing arm strength or top speed, and he’s not as physically gifted as Allen.

Even so, he’s going to have a full season to sit and learn from one of the greatest passers this game has ever seen, and that did wonders for Jordan Love.

Howard has always been projected to be a backup at the next level, but we’ve seen players outgrow their draft stock multiple times in the past.

Rodgers won’t be a long-term solution, so Howard might have his chance at some point.
