WH economic advisor Hassett on FoxNews interview says that he expects US GDP growth to be 2%– 2.5% in Q1.

That is well above the Q1 estimate from the inlet Fed GDPNow model which pegged GDP growth at -2.4% on March 6. The model has been pretty accurate of late, but is based on current data and is not forward looking.

Given the disparity, White House Economic Advisor Hassett either:

• Mispoke
• Is bullish on a quick rebound
• Is just biased higher and it really doesn’t matter what he says.
