Watch as Thiaw scores fastest Premier League goal of the season just hours after Foden sets record

Malick Thiaw scored the quickest goal of the Premier League season so far just hours after Phil Foden had set the record.

The Newcastle defender headed home after just 55 seconds at Hill Dickinson Stadium to give the Magpies an early lead in their clash with Everton.

The goal came following Foden’s opening goal for Manchester City against Leeds United at the Etihad earlier in the day that clocked in at 59 seconds

From Lewis Miley’s inswinging corner, Thiaw rose highest to nod beyond Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal as Eddie Howe’s men go in search of their first away league victory of the campaign.

The Toffees, meanwhile, came into the game off the back of a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out; a game that saw David Moyes’ men reduced to 10 men when Idrissa Gueye received a red card for a slap on teammate Michael Keane.
