Vikings Kicker Extends NFL-Leading Streak With Historic Stat

The 2025 NFL season is only entering its third week, but there have already been a lot of surprises along the way.

Some teams that were slated to be good have gotten off to slow starts, and teams that were expected to play poorly have greatly exceeded expectations.

Another interesting development is how kickers have performed.

Fans and analysts alike have commented on how many kickers have already missed the mark in crucial moments this season, with several kickers missing an opportunity to give their team the lead or tie a game up.

This poor start to the season doesn’t extend to all kickers, as the Minnesota Vikings’ own, Will Reichard, has performed well through two weeks.

He’s already made 50+-yard field goals in the team’s first two games, making it six-straight games where he’s had a field goal of 50+ yards.

The Vikings’ Communications team on X pointed out that this is now the longest streak in the league, and Reichard only trails Brandon Aubrey in this area in NFL history, who did it eight games in a row.

This is a consolation prize for the Vikings, of course, as they lost in blowout fashion to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.

Having a consistent kicker is great, but if the offense is struggling, only putting up field goals won’t win teams a lot of games.

It will be interesting to see how the Vikings perform the rest of the year and if they’ll find a way to recapture their strong offensive performances from a year ago.
