US says it ‘eliminated’ six Iranian small boats

Ok, so now we know why Iran fired missiles and drones.

A US Admiral via CENTCOM reports that the US destroyed six Iranian small boats that were approaching commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

There is also a headline saying citing a senior Iranian military official saying Iran has no plan to target the UAE. Of course, they did attack the UAE so that’s a strange one.

More from the admiral:

  • Iran has targeted civilian and US military ships with cruise missiles
  • US military blockade of Iran is exceeding expectations
  • Ships in Gulf waters belong to 87 countries, and we urge ships to cross the strait through the safe passage
  • Iran has attempted but failed to interfere by firing at commercial shipping

There is a video circulating of a commercial ship on fire.

It’s not clear what else is going on but Trump isn’t writing on Truth Social at the moment. It’s getting tougher to see an off-ramp here as they now seem to be openly fighting over who controls Hormuz.

Iran is denying that any boats were sunk but a US report said Apache helicopters sank the small boats.
