US lifts restrictions on Enterprise Product's ethane shipments to China

The U.S. has given Enterprise Products Partners the green light to restart ethane exports to China, the company announced on Wednesday, reversing a licensing restriction introduced only weeks earlier as trade tensions shifted from tariffs to supply chain controls.

  • In late May and early June, the U.S. imposed new curbs on ethane and various other exports to China, citing Beijing’s delays in sending rare earth materials critical to industries like automotive.
  • The restrictions were rolled back on Wednesday after the U.S. and China reached an agreement last week on the flow of rare earth minerals and magnets to the U.S.

Trade relations between the US and China re on a small upswing right now. Positive news while it lasts.
