US indices are closing lower as the NASDAQ and Russell 2000 continue to slump

Major US stock indices close lower as the NASDAQ and Russell 2000 continue to slump this week. A snapshot of the closing levels shows.

  • NASDAQ index -213.27 points or -0.93% at 22740.40.
  • Russell 2000 fell -36.13 point or -1.45% at 2451.54.

After close,

  • Tesla is reporting revenue be of $28.1 million versus $26.54 billion estimate. EPS is a miss, however, at $0.50 versus $0.56 estimate. Tesla shares are down -0.67% in after-hours trading, after closing down -0.82% at $438.97.
  • IBM EPS $2.65 versus $2.45 expected. Revenues of $16.33 billion versus $16.09 billion expected.
  • Lam research EPS $1.24 versus expected $1 and 21 says. Revenues of $5.324 billion versus $5.20 billion expected.
