Upamecano relaxed over transfer speculation

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano is staying calm over his future as the end of his contract nears amid links to several top European clubs.

Dayot Upamecano is not focusing on speculation around his future amid links to several European heavyweights.

The Bayern Munich defender’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are among those credited with an interest in the centre-back.

But Upamecano is staying calm on the subject of his future with Bayern, having played a key role in a start to the season that saw Die Rotten win their first 16 games in all competitions before last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Union Berlin.

Upamecano addresses Bayern exit talk

Speaking to L’Equipe, the France international said about the speculation: “My agent is taking care of it. We will make the right decision.

“I am receiving good advice. I am focused on this season and my goals with the club and the national team. I don’t have the headspace for it.

“I’m completely relaxed. I’m under contract with FC Bayern. I have goals. But I’m very grateful when clubs are interested in me.”

Upamecano joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021 and has won three Bundesliga titles in his time at the Allianz Arena.

He has made 167 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.
