Tyson Fury announces April comeback date

Tyson Fury will end his latest bout of retirement when he fights Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov on Netflix on 11 April.

The 37-year-old last fought in 2024 when he was defeated for a second time by Oleksandr Usyk.

He has retired several times. Before his two bouts with Usyk, the former heavyweight champion was unbeaten in 35 fights, winning 34 and drawing one.

The highly-anticipated fight against Makhmudov was confirmed on Wednesday by the Saudi Boxing Federation. No venue has yet been announced.

“I am excited to be back,” Fury said. “Heart has always been, and always will be, in boxing.”

“I am thrilled about the opportunity,” said Makhmudov, a Russian heavyweight who is based in Canada. “I’m coming to deliver a war. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready then ever to leave with a massive W.”

Fury follows in the footsteps of Anthony Joshua, who made his Netflix debut when he overwhelmed YouTube star Jake Paul in six rounds Miami in December.
