Trump Confirms tariffs on Canada, Mexico ‘will go forward’

ICYMI – Trump was asked at a press conference about the tariffs on Canada and Mexico, that were postponed until March 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. EST:

  • “The tariffs are going forward on time, on schedule,”
  • whined that the U.S. has “been taken advantage of” by foreign nations on “just about everything,”
  • “So the tariffs will go forward, yes, and we’re going to make up a lot of territory”
  • Trump also hinted at reciprocal tariffs coming

Trump’s policy pronouncements weighed on risk assets. Major stock indexes closed lower again on Monday.
