Treas. Sec Bessent is on the wires now saying:
- We are at the 1-yard line on a Ukraine minerals deal
Will they fumble or get over the line.
Trump:
- Does not see any problem in sending US troops as peacemakers in Ukraine.
- Will meet with Zelenskiy this week or next to sign minerals deal
- He will meet with Putin at some point
Russia might have a problem with the troop that but the pendulum is swinging the other way.
France’s Macron (who is in Washington and meeting with the President) says:
- Our objective is to build a solid long lasting peace in Ukraine
- EUrope is willing to step up to be a stronger partner, do more for defense
