According to Reuters:

• Trade talks between the US and Chinese delegations have started in London

NEC Hassett said on CNBC earlier today that he expects a handshake agreement and that the rare-earth would be released shortly thereafter.

According the China news sources, the meeting may extend into the London evening and may also spill into Tuesday. Also Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng is attending the meeting with US representatives.

US stocks have gotten a bit of a boost in early US trading with the Dow industrial average now up about 65 points and the NASDAQ index up 20 points. The broader S&P index is up 10 points currently
