Barcelona head to local rivals Girona on Monday looking to regain top spot in La Liga.

Real Madrid’s 4-1 home win over Real Sociedad on Saturday sent them two points above Barca, who are also looking to recover from their heaviest defeat of the season when they make the 60-mile trip north.

Barca lost 4-0 at Atletico Madrid on Thursday in the first leg of their 2025/26 Copa del Rey semi-final.

Girona are mid-table but winless in three games. Barca won the corresponding fixture 4-1 last season through two goals from Lamine Yamal.
