The Pittsburgh Steelers continue building roster depth as they prepare for another demanding NFL season.
Head coach Mike Tomlin and the front office have made it clear that maintaining competitive depth across all positions remains a priority.
Thursday brought several roster moves designed to address immediate needs and evaluate future options, according to reports from KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.
The Steelers signed veteran offensive lineman Andrus Peat to a one-year deal while working out prospects Spence Rolland and Julian Pearl.

Peat brings ten years of NFL experience and three Pro Bowl selections to Pittsburgh’s offensive line.
The veteran has played both left tackle and guard during his career, offering the versatility the Steelers need after dealing with injuries like Calvin Anderson’s recent setback.
He has already taken practice reps at left tackle, showing his readiness to contribute immediately.
His addition provides crucial reinforcement to a unit that has lost key contributors recently. The Steelers needed someone who could step in right away, and Peat’s resume suggests he can handle that responsibility.
The team also evaluated two younger prospects during workouts.
Rolland, an undrafted player from North Carolina in 2024, has spent time on practice squads with Minnesota and Green Bay.
He also competed in the UFL recently. His Pro Day numbers included a 5.22-second 40-yard dash and impressive bench press results.
Pearl comes from Illinois as another undrafted prospect. He has bounced between practice squads in Baltimore, Minnesota, and Cleveland.
At 6-foot-6 and over 300 pounds, he brings the size that NFL teams covet on the offensive line.
His Pro Day showed a combination of size and power, though consistency and technique need work.
The Steelers hope to solidify their offensive front and enhance overall team performance as they get ready for their preseason opener.
