The Pittsburgh Steelers lost left tackle Dan Moore as a free agent this offseason and surrendered 49 sacks last season, so the offensive line is clearly an area that needs improvement for 2025.
Pittsburgh will deploy high draft picks at tackle, as well as at center, with Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier holding down those key positions.
With that youth movement in the trenches, it’s important to have reliable depth, which is likely a big reason why the Steelers recently re-signed a backup lineman.

Anderson will be heading into his sixth year in the NFL after appearing in four games in his debut season for the Steelers.
He has 14 NFL starts and 50 games under his belt, with experience at both tackle spots should either Jones or Fautanu struggle or get injured.
He made the active roster with the Denver Broncos in 2020 and spent three seasons with them before joining the New England Patriots for the 2023 campaign.
It’s still unclear who Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback is going to be, but all signs are pointing to either Aaron Rodgers or a rookie.
Whether it’s the 41-year-old former NFL MVP or a first-year QB, getting more productive offensive line play is going to be crucial.
It’s always nice to see a journeyman lock down a bit of stability, and Pittsburgh has one solidified in the OL rotation for a couple more years.
