Stats Show How Quay Walker Is Impressing Through 4 Weeks

The Green Bay Packers‘ defense has been among the best in the league this season.

Notably, a lot of that has had to do with an unexpected hero.

For years, LB Quay Walker was the subject of debate.

He could alternate big games with major duds, and there were doubts about whether GM Brian Gutekunst should spend big bucks to keep him around for the long run.

However, after watching him dominate in the first month of the season, it’s pretty clear that they need to give him a contract extension.

As pointed out by Titletown Talks on X, he’s currently No. 2 in tackles (42) and No. 9 in stops (14) among all eligible linebackers.

He’s clearly not letting all the uncertainty about his contract situation get to his head.

If anything, it seems to be fueling his fire and bringing out the best of his game.

He was one of the few bright spots in Jeff Hafley’s defense in the disappointing 40-40 tie to the Dallas Cowboys, logging 11 total tackles, including six solo.

He led the team in tackles and recorded double-digit stops for the second time in as many weeks.

Walker posted career bests of 121 tackles as a rookie back in 2022 before slightly regressing over time.

But he’s still pretty young, and he’s shown that he can be a reliable stopper when he’s at his best.

The Packers’ defense should be much better again after the bye week, and Walker should be extremely motivated to keep this potential breakout year going.
