Stats Show How Clutch Patrick Mahomes Has Been For Past 5 Years

The Kansas City Chiefs might be down, but they’re not out.

They will never be as long as Patrick Mahomes is around.

As shown by analyst Warren Sharp on X, over the past five years, Mahomes has the best record in the NFL when trailing entering the fourth quarter.

To make it even more impressive, he’s the only quarterback with a winning record in that circumstance, going 14-7 for a .667 winning percentage.

Throughout the years, the Chiefs have won countless close games.

They’ve also been on the winning side of controversial calls and lucky bounces, which is why some fans say the games are rigged or that the referees favor them.

Yet, it would still be difficult to explain the massive gap between Mahomes and every other quarterback when the game is on the line.

Before Mahomes, this was also the case with Tom Brady.

Some players don’t seem to have the clutch gene that makes them stand out from the rest of the pack and rise to the occasion when others get stunned by the bright lights.

It rarely pays to be against Mahomes and the Chiefs, and they will have a huge chip on their shoulders this season after an embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
