The major US stock indices are all closing with gains of over 1%. The small-cap Russell 2000 is up 1.95%. The NASDAQ index is up 1.37% while the S&P index is up 1.07%. The Dow30 rose 1.12%.
Apple is getting all the headline news is it closed at an all time highs which is the first record close since December 26th as analysts upped their estimates. iPhone 17 sales in China are strong helped by the new design and subsidies. At the close, shares are up $9.95 or 3.95% on the day at $262.24. For the year shares are up 4.72%
Meta rose 2.14% and close back above its 100 day moving average at $729.40. Shares close today at $732.17.
Amazon shares rose 1.61% despite Amazon AWS average hit major sites. Shares closed on Friday below its 200 day moving average for the 1st time since May. Today’s moved to the upside took the price back above that moving average. The price is still below the 100 day moving average at $222.28. Shares closed at $216.48 today.
Microsoft underperformed with a gain of 0.63%. Nvidia did worse with a decline of -0.32% on the day, but AMD closed up 3.21% at a new record of $240.56. Since September 5, the price has surged by 59.16%
