Aaron Rodgers has been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past six months.
Even when he was still a member of the New York Jets, people believed that it was in the cards for him to play for Mike Tomlin at one point in his career.
Those talks heated up in the offseason, and it might have taken longer than anyone expected, but both sides ended up getting a deal done.
This could end up being a lucrative, short-term deal for the Steelers, or it could end up crashing and burning, which is what Skip Bayless believes will happen.
According to Bayless’ recent post on X, the Steelers are taking a chance on someone who is “washed up,” at least, in his eyes, and an athlete who struggles to take accountability for his actions and shortcomings.

Granted, the Steelers didn’t have any great quarterback options on their roster when they signed Rodgers, but Bayless still feels like they could have gone elsewhere.
They would have had several more options at the position had they pursued it harder in the first few weeks of the new offseason, and the Steelers let several interesting prospects slide past them in this year’s draft.
But, it seems like they had faith in Rodgers and his abilities from the beginning, not stopping their pursuit until he signed a contract.
The jury is still out on whether this was a good move, but it’s certainly one that has the people talking.
