The New Orleans Saints could use a veteran quarterback.

Incumbent starter Derek Carr shockingly retired, leaving them with a quarterback room consisting of rookie Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, and Hunter Dekkers.

However, even though they had some connections as former California Golden Bears, Cameron Jordan never thought of reaching out to Aaron Rodgers.

In a recent appearance on Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” show, the Saints defensive end admitted that he didn’t want to interfere with Rodgers’ usual offseason process.

“No, the only reason why is he normally has offseason processes in the last couple of years. First thing I heard was ‘Hey, the Saints are not an option.’ I was like, ‘Oh, guess I won’t be texting my guy,” Jordan said.

He knew that he was going to take some time before making a decision, so he thought that he would reach out to him once he got any update about whether he wanted to keep playing football or not.

Then, the first thing he heard from Rodgers was that he was going to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so it was too late already.

The Saints will kick off a new season with Kellen Moore at the helm, and while that should do wonders for their offense, their quarterback room has raised multiple concerns, and they’re not projected to be a playoff team in 2025.

The Steelers, on the other hand, will most likely be better with Rodgers behind center, but he’s not going to be a long-term solution, so they will also have to be on the hunt for another signal-caller sooner rather than later.

Even so, the Steelers’ interest in Rodgers had been an open secret for months now, so perhaps Jordan should be online a little more.
