Roger Goodell Hints At Potential Regular-Season Change

For years, NFL analysts have speculated about an expanded schedule.

The league already got what it wanted by adding a 17th regular-season game, even if it came at the expense of a shortened preseason.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently confirmed that it wants to add another game in the near future, with the goal reportedly to push the Super Bowl to Presidents’ Day weekend.

The league will always advocate for a longer schedule, considering the income stream that comes with every game.

The players might not feel the same way, and the NFLPA has often expressed concerns about the ripple effect it could have on their bodies and health.

They have already been critical of Thursday night and international games, but those continue to increase as well.

If anything, the league is going to great lengths to play on more days of the week, including games on Christmas, which was traditionally the domain of the NBA.

NFL owners are among the wealthiest individuals on the planet, and they often get exactly what they want.

The players could look to make more money as a result, but that might not be the only thing to consider.

Perhaps the league will have to consider expanding rosters, as adding another regular-season game can be extremely taxing for players who already put their bodies through a lot to perform every week as it is.
