Konstantinos Mavropanos and two Taty Castellanos scored twice each as West Ham moved out of the Premier League relegation zone at Tottenham’s expense with victory over Wolves at the London Stadium.
Centre-back Mavropanos met Jarrod Bowen’s cross with an expert header three minutes before the end of an uninspired first half between the Hammers and the bottom side, putting the Hammers on course to end a run of three straight draws in the top flight.

Angel Gomes hit a post from a free-kick for the visitors early in the second half, but West Ham responded by testing the woodwork through Jarrod Bowen’s drive and doubled their lead through Castellanos’ low finish inside the box after Wolves lost possession near the halfway line.

Castellanos repeated the trick from a Bowen pass two minutes later and Mavropanos volleyed in from close range with seven minutes remaining, ensuring West Ham rose two points clear of Spurs, who visit Sunderland on Sunday (14:00 BST), and 15 above Wolves.

Analysis: Wonderful West Ham send Spurs sliding again
Tottenham’s troubles have made the prospect of the Premier League heavyweights suffering relegation one of the stories of the season – and West Ham emphatically sealed Spurs’ place in the bottom three for the first time in 2025/26.
While Wolves are now on the brink of being mathematically relegated, Tottenham are on course to join them unless new head coach Roberto De Zerbi can inspire a significant improvement in their final seven matches.

“All the managers in the bottom three are looking at that and going ‘that’s the last thing we wanted,’”, former Spurs and West Ham midfielder Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports of West Ham’s impressive display.
“[Their rivals are] under pressure now. Mavropanos produced the incredible [first] header to calm anyone down.”
Second-bottom Burnley, who host Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday (14:00 BST), are 12 points from safety and 10 behind Spurs.

Winger Crysencio Summerville returned from injury for West Ham among six changes. Defender Jean-Clair Todibo and forward Callum Wilson were also back on the bench after being sidelined.
