Rams coach McVay reveals he suffered severe foot injury during Week 2 win

The Los Angeles Rams maintained their unbeaten start to the new NFL season on Sunday, but their latest victory came at a cost to head coach Sean McVay.

Los Angeles improved to 2-0 as they overcame the Tennessee Titans with a 33-19 road win.

But it was still a painful day for McVay in one sense, as he revealed he tore his plantar fascia, a thick tissue running along the sole of the foot, during the game.

Speaking on the ‘Coach McVay Show’ produced by the Rams, he said: “Foot’s good. I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that’s a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster.

“But I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed I did that.

“Good news is I’m not playing. I’m just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you’ll know why.”

McVay did not say how or when the injury happened, or if he would wear a walking boot while the injury heals.

The Rams face the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 3 in a rematch of the NFC Divisional Round matchup that ended Los Angeles’ 2024 season.
