Packers Quietly Among NFL’s Elite Through First 5 Weeks

The Green Bay Packers didn’t play in Week 5.

However, they may be one of the biggest winners of the week.

As pointed out by Matt Schneidman on X, now that the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles have lost, the Packers are tied for the fewest losses in the entire league.

That might sound like a technicality, but it’s a fact.

Granted, the Packers should still feel bad about that tie against the Dallas Cowboys, as they had all the resources to take down a team missing several stars, including their best player.

Fortunately for them, they will host a struggling Cincinnati Bengals team that can’t seem to get anything going on offense.

Jake Browning has been a turnover machine as a starter, and he’s hurting Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Additionally, the negative game script and subpar offensive line have also rendered Chase Brown a non-factor.

The Bengals also can’t seem to get a stop, with star defensive end Trey Hendrickson as the only realistic threat there.

The Packers should get at least a couple of players back from injury after the bye week, including RT Zach Tom and LG Aaron Banks.

At the time of writing, they’re 14.5-point favorites for Sunday’s game.

And while they can’t afford to overlook any opponent like they may have done against the Cleveland Browns, it would be a huge surprise if they failed to win and dominate in Week 6.

This team should perform better than one might expect from its record.
