Packers Given Favorable Odds To Make NFL Playoffs

The Green Bay Packers didn’t get the job done in Week 9.

Despite a surprising home loss to the Carolina Panthers, things are still looking promising.

According to Kalshi Sports, every NFC North team has a better than 28 percent chance of making the playoffs, with the Packers leading the way at 82 percent, narrowly ahead of the Detroit Lions at 81 percent.

That’s after the Packers lost, the Chicago Bears came back to beat the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Minnesota Vikings upset the Lions.

Yet, things can change week to week in this league.

The Packers have five divisional games left to play and close the season with a difficult stretch that will make or break their postseason aspirations.

They couldn’t afford to drop a winnable game at home, much less one in which they were favored by almost two touchdowns.

As good a team as they can be, they also have a worrisome tendency to play down to the opponent’s level.

It’s great to watch them match the intensity of contenders, but it’s frustrating when they can’t be consistent against lesser squads.

The Packers entered the season with serious Super Bowl aspirations, and as such, a failure to make the playoffs could be the beginning of the end for head coach Matt LaFleur.

They now host the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on “Monday Night Football” in Week 10.

Hopefully, they will use this loss as motivation to be at their best and prove that they’re still one of the best teams in football.
