Major US stock indices closed lower today, with no new record highs. The declines were led by the NASDAQ, which fell 0.67% (-153.30 points) to 22,788.36. Weakness in tech names weighed on the index, as Oracle dropped 2.52% on concerns about rising Nvidia chip costs, Micron slipped 2.76%, and Nvidia eased 0.29%. By contrast, AMD extended its surge from yesterday’s 23.71% rally, adding another 3.83% to finish at $211.51, marking a record closing high (previous record: $211.38).

Elsewhere, the Dow industrial average lost 91.99 points (-0.20%) to 46,602.98, and the S&P 500 fell 25.69 points (-0.30%) to 6,714.59. The Russell 2000 underperformed, sliding 27.93 points (-1.12%) to 2,458.42.
