NFL Insider Reveals What He’s Hearing About Cowboys, Micah Parsons

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons aren’t seeing eye to eye right now.

The All-Pro pass rusher wants to get a contract extension, and he has requested a trade.

It wouldn’t be the first time that a player publicly demanded to be moved to force his team’s hand to get a deal done.

That might not be the case this time.

“There has been very little in terms of actual negotiation taking place,” NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero said.

Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

He can line up at multiple positions and make a big impact at all of them.

He’s also the youngest player on the short list of elite edge rushers.

However, this is just the way the Cowboys do business, even with their best players.

Owner Jerry Jones takes pride in his hand-shake deals and waiting until the very last second to end up paying more than he would’ve had he done business in a timely manner.

More importantly, it reaches a point where it isn’t about money but about preserving relationships.

Parsons has a temper, and he’s not the type of player you want to get in this kind of feud with.

There was no reason to drag out negotiations for this long.

The Cowboys could’ve made him the highest-paid edge rusher in the game before Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt got their huge deals.

Now, Parsons is not only more expensive but is also at odds with the organization.
