The New York Jets already had one of the strongest, most physical, and most promising running backs in the league.
Breece Hall had dominated and looked great every single time he was on the field, even during his injury-shortened rookie season.
However, that didn’t stop the team from also getting Braelon Allen.
They also found ways to get him on the field early and often last season, which speaks volumes about his talent.
Now, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports that he could and should be in for a big workload this season.
Stuff I’ve heard on Jets RB Braelon Allen is getting backed up in the game vs. the Giants. Think he’s got a shot to have a monster year.

Hall has been tangled up in trade rumors for months now.
His future with the organization looks bleak at best, and he should have his fair share of suitors in the trade market, even if he’s about to break the bank with his next contract.
That opens up the door for Allen to have a big role in New York in his second year in the league.
If anything, they must be bracing for life without Hall already, and that requires feeding Allen to see whether he can deal with the workload and build on his impressive rookie season.
Also, with Justin Fields behind center, the Jets will most likely deploy a run-heavy offense, knowing that they will have a better chance to compete that way than by trusting Fields to make plays with his arms.
And if they keep Hall, they can definitely have one of the most explosive one-two punches in the league coming out of their backfield.
