Ndamukong Suh Gets Honest About Potentially Retiring With Lions

The Detroit Lions have seen several elite athletes come through their doors throughout the team’s history.

They haven’t always been the best team, necessarily, but it’s hard to deny the talented players they’ve been able to put on the field.

Matthew Stafford, for instance, is viewed as one of the league’s best quarterbacks over the past decade, and while he had a lot of individual success, he was never able to bring the Lions to the promised land.

Barry Sanders is another example of this.

He’s among the best running backs of all time, but for one reason or another, his team was never able to go all the way.

Ndamukong Suh helped lead some great defenses in Detroit from 2010 to 2014, a defensive end who was a force to be reckoned with, a matchup nightmare for opposing teams.

While he was a staple of the Lions’ defense during that period, he hopped around to different teams after leaving the Lions, which is why he might not end up retiring as an official member of the team.

He talked about this and more in a recent segment of “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams.

“There’s been no discussion [about retiring with the Lions]. I don’t know what the relationship is going to be like with that one in the future, but I know I’ve got a great relationship with the Philadelphia Eagles, which I’ve spent an amazing year there, as well as the Tampa Bay Bucs. Ultimately, there’s a lot of teams out there that still love me. I’ll leave it at this: I don’t necessarily feel the love [from the Lions],” Suh said.

Suh mentioned that he doesn’t have as strong a relationship with the Lions as he does with the Philadelphia Eagles, for instance, even though he only spent one year with them.

It will be interesting to see what team he ends up retiring with and if there will be any hard feelings or backlash when he makes his decision.
