Morocco were accused of a lack of sportsmanship after videos posted online showed players and ballboys trying to snatch a towel from Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy during last night’s Africa Cup of Nations final.
Mendy was in need of a towel to keep his face and gloves dry on a wet night in Rabat but Senegal had to send reserve goalkeeper Yehvan Diouf round the back of the goal to prevent the garment from being taken.
This is pure MADNESS, An unbelievable scene as the Moroccan player Ismael Saibari tries to steal the Senegalese goalkeeper Mendy’s towel, fortunately, there was a Senegalese player there to keep hold of it!
They tried everything and they failed but Senegal came prepared!!! pic.twitter.com/hpRjGMYR1i

Remarkable footage shows Morocco’s Ismael Saibari, who started the game before coming off in the 94th minute, trying to prevent Diouf from handing the towel to Mendy while in another video a pack of ball boys work together to try to snatch it out of Diouf’s grasp.
It was another preventable sideshow in a game that did little for the credibility of African football.
Le travail de Yehvan Diouf les gars😭 t’as le respect de tout un pays, SOLDAT 🙌🏾🦁🇸🇳
