Mina Kimes Reveals Why The Packers Frustrate Her

The Green Bay Packers may not yet look like a true Super Bowl contender, but few teams do this early in the season.

Since opening with strong wins over Detroit and Washington, head coach Matt LaFleur’s squad has struggled to maintain that level of play.

The Packers have produced inconsistent and, at times, unsightly football over the past few weeks.

That inconsistency has left fans and observers questioning whether this team can reach its ceiling.

The talent is clearly there, but execution has been spotty at critical moments throughout games.

During a recent segment of her show, analyst Mina Kimes admitted the Packers frustrate her because she sees so much untapped potential in the roster.

“They have everything it require to be the best team in the NFL. There’re these frustrating drives that make no sense. I would say penalties are… a common problem. Or just weird little execution lapses, which is odd, too, because they’re really well coached. The defense kind of falls apart at the end of games, and it doesn’t really make sense. And I just watch them, and I find them right now to be a very frustrating team, because I feel like they should be so much better than they are.” Kimes said.

Kimes even compared the Packers to the classic movie She’s All That, where the lead character was attractive all along but hidden behind glasses.

To Kimes, Green Bay has elite talent and the pieces to dominate, yet they rarely show it consistently.

She wants them to shed whatever is holding them back and unleash the team she believes is already there.

Green Bay’s offense struggled in a shocking 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.

Against the Dallas Cowboys, tied 40-40, the defense unraveled after the break and allowed the game to slip away.

Last Sunday, in a 27-18 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the offense struggled early while the defense wavered late.

Combine that with intermittent special teams issues, and it is easy to understand Kimes’ skepticism about their performance over six weeks.

Still, the Packers sit atop the NFC North and hold the No. 2 NFC seed.

Green Bay still projects as a legitimate Super Bowl contender if it can finally take off those glasses Kimes mentioned.
