Max Dowman scores stunner as Arsenal youngsters beat Bayern Munich

Max Dowman offered another glimpse of his extraordinary talent with a wonderful goal for Arsenal in the UEFA Youth League this afternoon.

Dowman, who recently became the youngest player to ever start a game for the Gunners aged 15 years and 302 days, won’t be involved in the first team’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich tonight.

But, playing against Bayern’s youth side, he was the star of the show with a magnificent individual goal to cap a superb display.

Picking the ball up on the right, he drifted into the area, dazzled a defender with a clever double drag back before slotting left-footed into the net.

Dowman had earlier cancelled out Yil Gashi’s opener and, after Bayern captain David Daiber had missed a penalty, goals from Kyran Thompson and Ceadach O’Neill put the home side in control.

Ljubo Puljic pulled one back for Bayern side but Dowman had the final, spectacular, say.

Munoz makes history for Arsenal

Dowman wasn’t the only player to catch the eye, though.

Luis Munoz made history by becoming the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Youth League, which is an Under-19 tournament.

Munoz, aged just 13 years and 343 days, came off the bench with five minutes of normal time to go, replacing Thompson.

He breaks the previous record, set by Liam Payas, who appeared for Lincoln Red Imps last year aged 14 years and 93 days.
