Marlins Place Robby Snelling On IL With UCL Sprain

The Marlins announced that left-hander Robby Snelling has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a sprain of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Right-hander Pete Fairbanks has been reinstated from the IL in a corresponding move. Snelling had been scheduled to start Thursday’s game. Kevin Barral of Fish on First points out that lefty Braxton Garrett has been scratched from today’s scheduled Triple-A start, so he will likely be recalled to start for the Fish on Thursday.

More to come.
