Major US indices close lower. S&P and NASDAQ indices never get out of negative territory

The major US stock indices are closing lower on the day.

Both the S&P and NASDAQ indices never got out of negative territory. The S&P snapped its nine-day win streak.

The Dow industrial average trade above and below unchanged but is closing lower on the day. The final numbers are showing:

  • Dow industrial average fell -98.29 points or -0.24% at 41219.14. At session highs, the Dow industrial average was higher by 128.48 points
  • S&P index-36.12.or -0.64% at 5650.55. At session highs, the S&P index it was down -3.29 points.
  • NASDAQ index fell -133.49 points or -0.74% at 17844.24. At session highs in the NASDAQ index was down -12.09 points.
