AC Milan showed their quality to overturn a second-half deficit and beat Fiorentina 2-1 in front of a raucous home crowd.
Robin Gosens gave the visitors a surprise lead just before the hour mark, poking home from close range after Luca Ranieri’s knockdown. It was Fiorentina’s first real chance of the game, having failed to register a single shot in the opening half.
Milan, who had dominated possession but struggled to convert pressure into chances, responded almost instantly. Strahinja Pavlovic’s surging run opened space for Leão, who cut inside and fired a stunning low drive beyond David De Gea to level.
The Portuguese winger remained at the heart of everything positive for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, and his persistence was rewarded five minutes from time.
Substitute Santiago Gimenez was hauled down in the box by Fabiano Parisi, prompting a VAR review that ended in a Milan penalty. Leao sent De Gea the wrong way from the spot to seal his brace and the points.
Fabregas’ Como humble Juventus
If Milan’s win was about resilience, Como’s 2-0 triumph over Juventus was built pure belief.
Como made a dream start at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, taking the lead inside four minutes when Nico Paz’s looping delivery found Marc-Oliver Kempf to volley home at the back post.
Juventus – unchanged from their previous outing – looked sluggish and wasteful, with Kenan Yildiz and Jonathan David both spurning first-half chances.
Alvaro Morata came close to doubling the advantage before the interval, forcing a fine stop from Michele Di Gregorio, but Como’s second arrived late to seal it.
In the 79th minute, Paz collected Maximo Perrone’s long ball, cut inside Andrea Cambiaso and curled a finish into the bottom corner – his fourth goal of the season and arguably his best yet.
Juventus’ frustration was summed up by their meagre 0.88 xG, compared to Como’s 1.47.
The result lifts Como above the Old Lady into fifth, their highest position in Serie A this season, while Juventus now turn their attention to a daunting Champions League trip to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
