Lamar Jackson Notches Top Spot On NFL All-Time List

As expected, the Baltimore Ravens looked to make a statement in Week 2.

Their epic meltdown in the season opener was on point with their recent history, but it didn’t honor their star-studded roster and Hall of Fame quarterback.

That’s why Lamar Jackson made sure to be at his best in the home opener, even against a stellar defense like the Cleveland Browns’.

With his performance, the Louisville product actually made NFL history, according to Doug Clawson:

“Lamar Jackson is now the NFL’s all-time leader in passer rating (102.65) after passing Aaron Rodgers today (102.60). Oh, and Lamar is the all-time QB leader in rush yards. Quite the combo,” Clawson posted on X.

So much for the ‘Lamar Jackson is a running back’ narrative, perhaps one of the least accurate and most infamous in the history of this beautiful game.

Granted, he wasn’t the most polished passer by any means when he first entered the league, but unlike most quarterbacks who used their legs as their primary weapon, he actually did something about it.

Jackson has worked tirelessly on his mechanics, footwork, and pocket presence.

Of course, he will always be a threat to take off and scramble because of his unmatched speed and shiftiness, but he takes pride in his improved passing, as he should.

Now, it’s all about finding consistency.

You never know what version of the Ravens you’re going to come across.

They can either look like the best team in all of football or play down to their opposition’s level and lose games they were supposed to win.

Either way, they will always have a chance to beat anybody that’s on the other side of the field, and that’s because of their quarterback.
