The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a roll.
After finding themselves in fourth-quarter deficits in their past two games, Baker Mayfield has found a way to bring this team back to life, leading epic comebacks in both matchups.
They’re 2-0 and are now more than confident to take on any team that stands in their way moving forward.
This success has come at a cost, however, as they have lost one of their offensive linemen to a season-ending injury.
As Adam Schefter recently noted on X, right guard Cody Mauch will be out for the year, a devastating loss so early in the season.
“Bucs starting right guard Cody Mauch suffered a season-ending knee injury Monday night, per source. Despite the injury, Mauch finished playing the game. Bucs are expected to sign guard Dan Feeney off the Bills practice squad,” Schefter posted on X.

Schefter also mentioned that the team is making a subsequent move to sign guard Dan Feeney, who is currently a member of the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad.
Mayfield is mobile enough of a quarterback to evade pressures that come his way, so on one hand, losing an everyday starter might not seem like a big deal.
However, this offensive line was performing well through two games, and losing any player from that unit could make them less cohesive, at least at first.
The Buccaneers have a relatively easy matchup on paper this week against the New York Jets, who will be rolling out Tyrod Taylor as their starter with Justin Fields out with a concussion.
They take on the Philadelphia Eagles the following week, so if they can work out their kinks and get Feeney acclimated ahead of that matchup, this offense might not miss a step and keep their winning ways intact.
