The New York Jets will open training camp with two key players on the sidelines.
Edge rusher Jermaine Johnson II and special teams star Irvin Charles will be on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Fortunately, Johnson looks healthy coming back from an Achilles injury suffered last season.
He recently posted a clip of himself running and moving around in drills, and he looks sharp and explosive.
Achilles who?😂😂😂 All Glory to God man fr. Blessed is an understatement!!🙏🏾💯. pic.twitter.com/1FJ5HkvjeP

A Pro Bowl selection in 2023, he was always expected to be back to full strength in time to start the 2025 season.
He recently took to social media to say that he agreed with the decision to take things slowly to be ready for the start of the season, adding that he was placed on the PUP list as a precaution and not because he had any sort of setback.
Charles, on the other hand, might need more time, as he tore his ACL late in the 2024 campaign.
He’s entering the final year of his contract, so he will be eager to get back on the field to get a new deal.
As for Johnson, he had his fifth-year option picked up by the Jets this offseason, and if he’s healthy and performs well, he could get a massive raise in his next contract.
