Jean Harlow‘s estate is up for sale … but a potential buyer will need to make quite the explosion on the real estate market to lock up the Blonde Bombshell’s pad.
The 4-bedroom, 7-bathroom mansion — which sits on 1.32 acres of prime real estate in Los Angeles — hit the market on Tuesday and will certainly generate a ton of buzz.
The 7,367-square-foot home, built in 1932, features marble fireplaces and crown molding straight out of Jean’s era, as well as a library, a Prohibition-era speakeasy and a separate 1,320-square-foot guesthouse on the property as well. But that’s not all the place has to offer…
Of course, the house comes with a pool — no expensive L.A. home would be complete without one — a full-size tennis court, a koi pond, two greenhouses and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.
Basically, it’s a house built for a starlet … and it can be yours — if you happen to have $16.8 million lying around.
If you don’t know … Harlow rose to fame in the late 1920s and early 1930s … showcasing her talent in Howard Hughes‘ “Hell’s Angels” and the 1931 movie “Platinum Blonde” — a nickname attached to her in real life as well. Tragically, Harlow died of kidney failure while shooting “Saratoga” in 1937 … she was just 26 years old.
