Injuries are the worst part of the game. Unfortunately, we’ve seen way too many talented NFL players fail to live up to their potential because of that.

That might be the case with J.K. Dobbins. The Denver Broncos‘ star running back sustained a foot injury, and he’s not going to suit up for Sunday’s divisional matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

That’s why he took to social media to share his honest thoughts on this situation. More importantly, he wants everybody to know that he’s not going to give up:

“For those who will count me out again. Thank you. For those who are with me on this ride, stick with me! You will love what God has planned next,” Dobbins posted on X.

Unfortunately, this might still be the end of the line for him. He’s already undergone surgery and will be placed on Injured Reserve. He will be eligible to return after four weeks, meaning that he will miss the games against the Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders, and Green Bay Packers at the very least.

Even so, the reports aren’t encouraging, and it feels like he could be out for the remainder of the year. He has a long history of injuries, which only adds to the concerns.

The Broncos rank ninth in rushing yards per game, and with Bo Nix struggling so mightily in his second season, Dobbins was arguably the most important piece for that unit. Through 10 games, he was up to 772 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

A former second-round selection, Dobbins missed 43 games in his previous years with the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers. In the meantime, the Broncos will have to rely on UCF rookie R.J. Harvey, who has carried the ball for 214 yards and two scores while adding 175 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
