J.J. McCarthy has been the talk of the town for Minnesota Vikings fans over the past few months.
Once the team made it clear that he was going to be their starter in 2025, the buzz hasn’t stopped surrounding the 2024 first-round pick.
The Vikings made a significant investment in him, and after suffering a season-ending injury ahead of the 2024 season, McCarthy is ready to be a leader on this team, hoping to be a franchise star.
He’ll have what many call “dad strength” when he starts the season, which might be a good omen for Vikings fans.
McCarthy is expecting his first child, a baby boy, as Dov Kleiman pointed out on X.

He’ll have a lot to balance between having a child and making a name for himself in the NFL, but McCarthy seems more than up for the task.
The Vikings have put a lot of eggs in McCarthy’s basket, so to speak, and with talent around him like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and Aaron Jones, he has many tools to help him succeed.
Plus, head coach Kevin O’Connell has been among the best in the league since he took the reins in Minnesota, and considering his storied history of developing quarterbacks, McCarthy should be in good hands.
The NFC North isn’t getting any weaker, as the Detroit Lions were a top team in 2024, as were the Green Bay Packers, and the Chicago Bears have made several key roster additions that could also make them a threat.
