I lied… Fed Powell is expected to speak tomorrow even though the Fed is in the quiet period ahead of the FOMC rate decision on July 30.
He is due to deliver opening remarks at the Integrated Review of the Capital Framework for Large Banks Conference hosted by the Federal Reserve, in Washington DC;.
That is what my calendar says at least.
Although he is scheduled and may in fact say some things, do not expect anything about the economy, policy, Pres. Trump, the Fed building. He may just wave for all I know, but expect the quiet period rules to apply – unless he chooses to go rogue for some reasons.
Other than that, in the US session tomorrow:
- Richmond Fed manufacturing index is expected to be released at 10 AM with expectation of -3 versus -7.
Last week, the Philly Fed manufacturing index kicked off the regional indices and was stronger than expectations of 15.9 versus -1.2 estimate.
