Goalkeeper leaves Man City after eight years

Ederson has left Manchester City and completed a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce to end eight “amazing” years at Manchester City.

The 32-year-old Brazil goalkeeper signed for City from Benfica in 2017 and won 18 major honours including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and a Champions League.

The Brazilian also won the Golden Glove award three times. He has been on the bench so far this season after City re-signed James Trafford from Burnley, and his exit could see City announce the arrival of Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Ederson told Manchester City’s website: “I leave incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times.

“Under (head coach) Pep (Guardiola), we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing.”

Fenerbahce do not currently have a manager after they sacked Jose Mourinho last week.
