Giants Veteran Raves About Cam Skattebo

The New York Giants face a pivotal 2025 season with General Manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll potentially in their final year together.

The franchise has reshaped its offensive identity through roster changes that could define the organization’s direction moving forward.

Fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo has emerged as a legitimate contender for the starting running back position.

The rookie from Arizona State has impressed teammates with his physical style during training camp practices.

Veteran outside linebacker Brian Burns recently shared his assessment of Skattebo’s early performance with reporters.

“He showed he got a little dog…” Burns told reporters, per Giants.com’s Matt Citak. “He runs tough, he runs behind his pads. I got to get back and watch the film. I didn’t really get a head-to-head with him yet, but from what I hear, alright, we’ll see (laughs)…I like that he got that edge to him and I feel like he’s (going to) be about what he says, so I like that about him.”

Skattebo built his reputation at Sacramento State and Arizona State through relentless effort and downhill running.

Those traits helped him become the Giants’ fourth-round selection at No. 105 overall in this year’s draft.

After being limited during spring workouts, the rookie has participated fully since training camp began.

His first five practices have produced several standout moments, including a long rushing attempt and an impressive catch during Monday’s session.

The early returns have drawn notice from veteran teammates as Skattebo adapts to professional football.

His combination of physical tools and football instincts has created buzz within the organization.

Skattebo’s emergence provides another weapon as New York attempts to maximize what could be a make-or-break season for the current regime.
