Fredrikstad 0-0 Crystal Palace (Agg: 0-1)

Crystal Palace qualified for the Conference League after a solid goalless display in Norway secured an aggregate win over Fredrikstad.

The FA Cup winners were demoted from the Europa League after a lengthy legal case this summer but have rallied back from disappointment to reach the league phase of the Conference League.

Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal in last week’s first leg was enough for Palace’s first European win and Oliver Glasner’s side to progress.

They largely controlled the game in Norway without posing much of a threat, with captain Marc Guehi excellent again in dealing with a series of long throws and corners from the hosts.

Mateta had the best chance in added time but goalkeeper Martin Borsheim rushed out well to make the save.

Stiane Molde had the hosts’ best chance but was unable to turn in after Dean Henderson failed to catch a ball in the six-yard box.

Glasner’s side are now 13 games unbeaten in all competitions, equalling their club record as a top-flight side.
