The A sample Bagnis provided contained hydrochlorothiazide, which is prohibited under the TADP, in the category of Diuretics and Masking Agents, the International Tennis Integrity Agency announced today.

Here’s the ITIA statement on Bagnis’ case:

Hydrochlorothiazide is a Specified Substance, and Bagnis did not possess a valid TUE for the substance. While Specified substances do not carry a mandatory provisional suspension, Bagnis elected to enter voluntary provisional suspension on 18 October 2025. Time served under provisional suspension will be credited against any future sanction.

During his provisional suspension, Bagnis is banned from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association.
