The Miami Dolphins may soon bid farewell to All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey amid reported tension with head coach Mike McDaniel.
While the trade remains unfinalized, the organization’s front office has already begun exploring alternatives.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald revealed that the team engaged in early discussions with veteran cornerback James Bradberry weeks before the draft unfolded.
Whether these talks progress remains uncertain, but the Dolphins’ proactive approach signals they’re preparing for Ramsey’s likely departure.

The free agent landscape still offers valuable defensive talent, particularly in the secondary where several experienced cornerbacks remain unsigned.
With the 2025 NFL Draft now complete, teams can sign free agents without affecting their compensatory pick calculations for 2026.
Among available cornerbacks, Bradberry stands alongside notable names like Rasul Douglas, Mike Hilton, and Asante Samuel Jr.
His NFL career began when the Carolina Panthers selected him in the second round of the 2016 draft.
After completing his rookie contract, Bradberry secured a three-year, $45 million deal with the New York Giants in 2020.
When faced with Bradberry’s substantial $13.4 million salary in his contract’s final year, the Giants opted to release him.
The Philadelphia Eagles quickly capitalized, initially signing him to a one-year contract before extending him with a three-year, $38 million agreement in 2023.
In 2023, Bradberry appeared in 16 games, recording 54 tackles, 13 passes defended, one interception, and a fumble recovery.
Following an injury and the Eagles’ salary cap considerations, Philadelphia released him after June 1st to maximize cap relief.
