China says willing to resolve US concerns on tariffs through dialogue

  • Trade between both countries are mutually beneficial in nature, should follow WTO rules
  • Trade disputes should be solved within WTO framework
  • Hopes that US and China will move in same direction through equal consultation
  • China ready to work more closely to safeguard hard-earned multilateral trading system
  • Will not accept threats and oppression
  • Will firmly defend our sovereignty, security, development interests
  • It is natural to have disagreements but important to respect each others’ interests, major concerns

This could have been a copy and paste of the whole ordeal in 2018-2020 and no one would be the wiser. Trump has already signed the order for China tariffs to be bumped up to 20% here.
